3. How the information is used.
4. With whom the information may be shared.

Information Collection and Use

Regarding information collection and use, Active Practice Websites, such as www.activepractice.com and www.wellslegaltech.com, have three sections; the Public Website, the Member Area, and the Store. The Member Area is not open to the public and is available only to registered Active Practice members who have specifically requested access to the Member Area. The Store is generally available to the public, but if an order is placed, additional information is collected.

Public Website - If you browse the Public Website, you do so anonymously. We do not collect personal information. We do not collect your Email address. We may log your IP address (the Internet address of your computer) to give us an idea of where on the Web you came from, which parts of our Website you are visiting, and how long you spend there. We do not link your IP address to anything personally identifiable. The only other information automatically provided to us is the type of browser and operating system you are using. Your browser automatically supplies us with this information and it may be used to maintain the design and functionality of the site.

Member Area - Active Practice does collect personal contact information, correlate this information with IP addresses, and may take other actions to confirm your identity, when you access to the Member Area.

Store - Active Practice does collect personal contact information, correlate this information with IP addresses, and may take other actions to confirm your identity, plus keep a record of your purchases when you order products and services through the Store.

Active Practice is the sole owner of the information collected in the Public Website, Member Area, and the Store. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. If you feel that Active Practice is not abiding by its posted privacy policy, you should contact us via Email or phone.

Member Area Registration

In order to use the Member Area, a visitor must first complete the registration form. During this registration, a visitor is required to give their contact information (such as name and Email address). This information may be used to contact the visitor about Member Area services, account problems or changes, and information updates.

Store Orders

We request information from the visitor on our order form. Here a visitor must provide contact information (like name, firm name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date and billing address). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill visitor's orders. If we have trouble processing an order, this contact information is used to get in touch with the visitor.

Session and Permanent Cookies

All areas of the Active Practice Websites may use a standard technology called a "cookie" to collect information about how you use the site and to save information to make it easier for you to navigate the site.

Session Cookie - A session cookie is a piece of data stored on the visitor's hard drive containing information about the visitor. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. Once the visitor closes their browser, the cookie simply terminates and should be removed from your hard drive by the browser. For instance, by setting a cookie on our site, the visitor would not have to log in a password, to access the Member Area, more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. If a visitor rejects the cookie, they may still use our site. The only drawback to this is that the visitor will be limited in some areas of our site. Cookies can also enable us to track and target the interests of our visitors to enhance the experience on our site.

Permanent Cookie - A permanent cookie survives on the visitor's hard drive after the browser is closed. If Permanent cookies are used, the visitor will be given an advisory before placing the cookie on the hard drive. These cookies can be removed by disabling the feature that activated it, or removing it from your browser options.

An Active Practice site may include links or advertisements to other sites that may use cookies once the link is selected. However, we have no access to, or control over, these cookies. Please check the Privacy Policies of these sites before linking to them if you have cause for concern.

Log Files

We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track visitor's movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information in the Public Website. They may be so linked in the Member Area and Store.

Sharing

We may share aggregated demographic information with our partners and strategic allies. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person.

We use an outside shipping company to ship orders, and a credit card processing company to bill visitors for goods and services. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.

We may partner with other parties to provide specific services. When the visitor signs up for these services, we will share names, or other contact information that is necessary for the third parties to provide these services.

These parties are not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services.

Links

This Website contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we at Active Practice Corporation are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our visitors to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every Website that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Website.

Newsletter

If a visitor wishes to subscribe to our newsletter, we ask for contact information such as name and Email address. This information is not shared with third parties.

Surveys & Contests

From time-to-time our site may request information from visitors via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and the visitor therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code, age level). Contact information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site.

Security

This Website takes strong precautions to protect our visitors' information. When visitors submit sensitive information via the Website, the information is protected both online and off-line.

When our registration or order form asks visitors to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry: 128-bit SSL. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to unlocked, or open, when you are just surfing. To learn more about SSL, follow this link.

While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect visitor information off-line. All of our visitors' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing specialist or a service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Our employees must use password-protected accounts to access visitor information. Furthermore, ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices.

If you have any questions about the security at our Website, please Email or phone us.

Welcome Email

We send new members a welcoming Email to verify password and login.

Special Offers

Established members will occasionally receive information on products, services, special deals, and a newsletter. Out of respect for the privacy of our visitors, we present the option to not receive these types of communications. Please see our opt-out description below.

Correction/Updating Personal Information

If a visitor's personally identifiable information changes (such as your postal address), or if a visitor no longer desires our service, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update or remove that visitor's personal data provided to us. This can usually be done by Emailing our us or calling us.

Choice/Opt-out

Our visitors are given the opportunity to opt-out of having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for the information.

Notification of Changes

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our Website so our visitors always can determine what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify visitors by way of an Email. Visitors will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
